Terms of Service
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 18, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of dorndidit.com (the "Site") and DORN Extensions software (the "Software"). By using the Site or Software, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use them. Your use of the Software is also governed by our End User License Agreement; if a conflict exists about the Software, the EULA controls.
In plain terms: use the Site and Software lawfully, pay for what you subscribe to, don't abuse the service, and understand that the Software is a design aid — not an engineering or code-compliance tool.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Site or Software. If you use the Software on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The Site
The Site provides information about DORN Extensions, documentation, support and a beta signup form. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.
3. Accounts and beta access
- Beta access is invitation-based. Requesting an invite doesn't guarantee one.
- If you're invited, you'll receive instructions by email. Beta access may be limited in features, time or number of users.
- You're responsible for keeping your invite and any account credentials confidential.
4. Subscriptions
- Paid subscriptions (Individual and Studio plans) are billed annually or monthly as shown on the pricing page.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for your plan until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime online. Access continues to the end of the paid period; no partial refunds for partial months unless required by law.
- A full refund is available within 14 days of your first purchase. After that, fees are non-refundable.
- Prices exclude applicable tax. Orders are processed by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record.
- Early-access pricing is locked for as long as you maintain continuous subscription. If your subscription lapses, current pricing applies when you resubscribe.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site or Software for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, our systems or another user's data;
- interfere with or disrupt the Site, servers or networks;
- scrape, copy or redistribute Site content without permission;
- use the Software in violation of the EULA.
6. Your content
You own the models, drawings, exports and product libraries you create with the Software. DORN claims no rights in your content. You are responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the rights to any data you import into the Software.
7. Intellectual property
The Site and Software, including text, graphics, logos, symbols, templates and documentation, are owned by Dorn Enterprises and protected by intellectual property laws. The DORN name and wordmark are trademarks of Dorn Enterprises. See the EULA for full license terms.
8. Third-party trademarks and software
SketchUp and LayOut are registered trademarks of Trimble Inc. DORN Extensions are independent products and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Trimble Inc. You must hold your own valid SketchUp license to use the Software.
9. Disclaimers
The Site and Software are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DORN disclaims all warranties, express or implied. The Software is a design and documentation aid and does not verify code compliance, perform engineering calculations or replace the judgment of a qualified professional. See the EULA for full warranty disclaimers.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DORN is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or Software. DORN's total liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim or US $100. See the EULA for full liability limits.
11. Professional responsibility
The Software documents design intent. It does not verify compliance with the National Electrical Code, California Title 24, building codes or manufacturer requirements. A qualified, licensed professional is responsible for reviewing and approving all drawings, specifications and installations. See the EULA and our documentation.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy describe how we handle your personal information.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We'll post changes on this page and update the effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email if we have your address.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or Software if you violate these Terms or the EULA. You can stop using the Site and Software at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute resolution) remain in effect.
15. Disputes and governing law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
- Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us in good faith at support@dorndidit.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
- Any claim must be filed in the state or federal courts located in San Joaquin County, California, and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue there.
- Each party bears its own attorneys' fees and costs unless a statute entitles the prevailing party to them.
- If the Class Action Waiver below is found unenforceable, disputes will be arbitrated in San Joaquin County, California under JAMS rules, with one arbitrator, and the arbitrator's award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver: any dispute is resolved on an individual basis; class actions, class arbitrations and consolidated proceedings are not permitted.
16. General
- If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- These Terms, together with the EULA and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DORN for the Site and Software.
